Select Auto Sales - Buyer's Guide:
Buying a motor vehicle is a large investment, and many purchasers are
understandably nervous. At Select Auto Sales we understand this and so
have put together a few pointers we hope will help you to select the vehicle best
suited to your needs.
Mileage: It may sound obvious but make sure you check the odometer for
the vehicle's mileage. If the mileage looks too good to be true, you might
be looking at a 200,000 kilometer vehicle rather a 100,000 kilometer one.
Damage: Don't just look at the body for signs of a collision. Open the hood
and the trunk and check for signs of repairs there as well. Also look for
components that don't line up well - for example, an even gap around all doors.
Financing: Visit your Bank or Credit Union before you start shopping for a car.
Knowing your budget will help you narrow down your car search.
Insurance: You should also have an idea of what your monthly insurance costs
are going to be. Talk to your local insurance agent before buying a vehicle,
and make sure you don't over-insure, or, under-insure.
Prices: If you know the Make and Model of the vehicle you want, check around
for prices. But be careful that you compare apples to apples. That low price
may mean high mileage, poor condition, fewer options and so on.
